About the Allegany County Pheasant Program
The Allegany County Pheasant Program provides recreational pheasant hunting opportunities throughout Allegany County while supporting conservation, education and community involvement.
Since the program began in 2007, it has grown from a local initiative into a collaborative effort involving the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, community partners, students, landowners and sportsmen.

Our Mission
To raise pheasants for recreational use on public and private land throughout Allegany County.

A Partnership That Makes It Possible
The Allegany Sheriff’s Office has been an important partner in the program since its beginning. Pheasants are raised and cared for through the working inmate program at the Allegany County Jail, providing meaningful education and work opportunities while supporting a recreational resource for the entire county.
